How to Play

Play Jack'o Gunner online for free. Jack'o Gunner is a survival game where you play as a Jack-o'-lantern shooting at waves of skeletons across a graveyard. Each day presents another quest of increasing difficulty. Use coins earned in the game to buy attack upgrades. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Tap the green and white START button at the bottom of the game’s welcome screen.
To the left of your character there is a green button with a golden arrow on it. After you have played the game and collected coins you can enter this area to buy upgrades.
Your web browser automatically stores your longest survival streak and purchased upgrades.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Use your mouse left click button and drag your mouse around the screen to move.
  - Your character will automatically shoot at the closest skeleton.
  - Touchscreen devices
    - Tap the screen with your finger to move.
    - Controls & indicators
      - The upper left corner of the screen has buttons to pause the game and control game sounds.
      - At the top center there is a meter which shows which percent of the skeletons you have killed.
      - Your health is shown in the top right. You start with 3 hit points.
      - An icon on the screen shows where a treasure chest containing gold coins is. You can move in that direction to collect the chest and gain more coins.
      - Most skeletons drop coins & some skeletons drop pickups which you can grab.
      - In the lower right if you have a high-powered assistant weapon available an icon will appear. You can select it to enable it.
      - If almost all the skeletons have been cleared from the level a purple indicator will show where the last skeleton is located.
      - Game Play
        Gameplay
        The goal of this game is to survive as long as possible without getting hit by the skeletons.
        Try to stay in constant motion to make it harder for skeletons to trap you.
        You can use tombstones and buildings to block skeletons.
        Be careful with being too close to the boundaries of the graveyard as more skeletons can come from any direction at any time & you want to be able to leave yourself multiple ways out.
        A virtual joystick appears on the screen showing your general movement direction.
        Try to keep your mouse cursor near the center of the screen as it is easy to accidentally move the cursor offscreen out of the browser if you do not watch where it is & then you lose control of your movement.
        If you lose location of your mouse or character control then release the left click button, re-center the mouse on the screen, press the left click button and start moving again.
        Skeleton types
        Most skeletons are white and are fairly weak, only taking a shot or a couple shots to defeat.
        Colorful skeletons are more powerful than white skeletons.
        Purple skeletons run faster than white skeletons.
        When lime green skeletons are destroyed they leave colorful ooze on the ground which harms your health if you run into it. This ooze also slows down any other skeletons which run through it.
        Days
        Each day is its own distinct battle.
        At the start of each day you can choose to obtain a temporary gun upgrade which lasts for that day. These include options like spreadshot, freeze shot, flame shot, and improvements to critical hit rate, attack speed, and attack power.
        Between days you go back to your hut, where you can use your collected coins to buy upgrades.
        You keep playing day after day with each day getting progressively harder with more skeletons on it.
        Dying
        You start each day with 3 hit points.
        If you lose all 3 hit points it is game over and you start back at the first level.
        If you lose some health but do not die on a level then you will start the next level with full health.
        You retain any purchased upgrades when restarting on the first level.
        Upgrades
        Coins can be used to upgrade your attack speed, attack power, and critical attack rate.
        These upgrades last between games.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for people of all ages who like Halloween or simple shooting games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
