How to Play

Play Super Balloon Bomb online for free. Super Balloon Bomb is a level destruction game which was inspired by the Super Bomberman series. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

  • Starting the Game
    • Click the play button on the welcome screen to start the game.
    • Game Controls
      • Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move up, down, left or right.
      • Press the spacebar to lay a balloon which will quickly detonate then move away from it.
        • You can lay balloons even while you are moving, but you can only lay one balloon at a time and can not lay another until the first one has blown up.
        • The sound control button is in the upper left corner of the screen.
        • Scoring
          • Uncovered blocks are worth 50 points each.
          • Blown up enemies are worth 500 points each.
          • The red outfit is worth 250 points when you put it on.
          • Beating a level is worth 2,500 points.
          • Strategy
            • To exit each level you need only find the key and the door. Everything else is bonus. So you might have a different strategy for the game depending on if you are seeing how many levels you can beat versus if you are trying to score the highest score you possibly can.
              • The game is not timed and you get an unlimited number of balloons.
                • If you have already killed off all the enemies you can slowly and carefully make your way across the playing field to uncover all the remaining bricks.
                  • In some cases enemies may be hiding under some of the bricks you blow up – be prepared for that!
                  • If you need to get past an enemy take time to watch their pattern and be certain of it before going past them or trying to blow them up.
                  • You are the only player who can blow up blocks in this game. If an enemy is constrained in a small space you can decide which angle to approach them from to minimize your risk of getting hit while maximizing your likelihood of killing them.
                  • Avoiding death
                    • You start the game with 3 lives and when you die 3 times it is game over. Each time you die you start back at the center of the screen in the same level with the level in its current status until it is death number three and game over.
                    • When you lay a balloon be sure you quickly have a clear path to move away from it without getting hit by an enemy.
                      • A balloon blows up the square it is laid on along with each of the 4 squares directly touching it.
                      • Enemies do not get killed by balloons unless they are standing near it when it detonates.
                      • If you touch a balloon after it has been laid it automatically detonates.
                      • Try to limit how many ways a trapped enemy can move when bombing near them, and anticipate when you can create an opening for them to chase after you.
                      • Evil enemies
                        • If a particular enemy is frustrating and you do not need to kill them then you can avoid them and move onto the next level.
                        • The hit detection is pretty brutal for the player and generous for the computer. Enemies move faster than you do as you move through the game, so it pays to have 2 ways out to try to avoid them.
